Early Life and Education

Knut Storberget was born on October 12, 1964, in Elverum, Norway.

He studied political science at the University of Oslo and later worked as a journalist for several newspapers and magazines.

Political Career

Storberget began his political career in the late 1980s, joining the Norwegian Labour Party.

He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1993 and served as Minister of Justice and Public Security from 2005 to 2011.

As Minister of Justice, Storberget initiated several reforms, including the introduction of a new penal code and the establishment of a national police force.

He also played a key role in Norway's response to the 2011 terrorist attacks in Oslo and Utøya.

He also served as the President of the Norwegian Red Cross from 2017 to 2021.
